An angry member of the Kataragama Pradeshiya Sabha has assaulted the chairman of the monthly meeting of the Kataragama Pradeshiya Sabha Chanaka Amil Rangana for postponing the meeting.
The meeting was scheduled to begin at 10 am, but the chairman, Chanaka Amil Rangana, arrived about an hour late. .
The chairman has been attacked by several people on several previous occasions.
