A Sub Inspector of Police has been killed when a tear gas canister exploded in front of Temple Trees.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thallduwa stated that he died after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
The deceased has been identified as a Sub Inspector of Police.
The firearm in his hand exploded when he tried to activate the firearm in his hand.
