70% of buses to run this week - Gemunu Wijeratne, President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association

Gemunu Wijeratne, President of the Ceylon Private Bus Owners' Association said that arrangements have been made to operate more than 70% of private buses within this week.

Mr. Wijeratne said that the operation will commence as the Ministry of Power and Energy will provide fuel on a daily basis through SLTB depots.

He said that steps have been taken to supply 800,000 liters of diesel required daily for private and SLTB buses to the SLTB Depot.

He called on the people to support the fuel crisis by using public transport as much as possible instead of their own private vehicles.
