A body was found near the Molpe by road in the Moratumulla police division with his hands tied and his mouth covered with plaster.
The police stated that the body was found based on information received by the Moratumulla Police.
The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed and the man was identified as a 20- to 25-year-old man wearing a blue shirt 5 feet 6 inches high and white long pants, police said.
The cause of the incident has not been revealed yet and the magisterial inquiry and post mortem will be held today (June 20).
Moratumulla Police are conducting further investigations.
