A man who went to pick a coconut to prepare food has been shot by the owner of the estate with a firearm.


Kochchikade Police stated that the victim was admitted to the Negombo Hospital.


The injured have been identified as a 25-year-old resident of No. 296/8/13, Sixty Road, Dalupatha.

  

Police investigations have revealed that the youth had entered the estate at around 2.15 pm on June 15 and had been shooting while picking coconuts.


The shooting was carried out with a licensed 12 bore firearm and the firearm was taken into police custody.


Kochchikade police have arrested the owner of the estate and produced him in court today (June 16).
