Aeroflot suspends flight ban

The Colombo Commercial High Court has ordered the suspension of an enjoining order restraining an Aeroflot aircraft from leaving Sri Lanka.

The order was issued by Colombo Commercial High Court Judge Harsha Sethunga after considering the monsoon petitions filed by the Attorney General.

An enjoining order was issued on June 2 preventing Aeroflot from taking off from Katunayake Airport.

The enjoining order was issued on a complaint filed by Celestial Aviation Trading Limited in Ireland until the 16th of this month.

However, due to the crisis situation that has arisen between the two states through the relevant enjoining order, the Attorney General had decided to make such submissions in court today through a motion.
