Anuruddha Bandara acquitted of all charges

Colombo Additional Magistrate Keminda Perera today (June 21) ordered the release of Anuruddha Bandara, who was arrested by the Colombo North CID and released on bail, in connection with an incident that allegedly published news on social media.

Following a request made by President's Counsel Saliya Peiris on behalf of the accused the previous day, the Magistrate ordered the suspect to be acquitted of all charges.

President's Counsel Saliya Peiris had earlier requested the court to release the suspect from the case as the charges against him could not be continued.

Accordingly, the Magistrate announced his verdict today and acquitted the suspect of all charges and ordered the case to be closed.
