Basil and Thiru Nadesan acquitted and released !


Former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Thirukumar Nadesan have been acquitted of the Malwana house case.


The case was filed by the Attorney General against former Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Thirukumar Nadesan on three counts of embezzling government funds by buying a 16 acre land in Dompe, Malwana, Mapitigama, constructing a huge house, a swimming pool and running a farm.


Will the case continue? Isn't it The Gampaha High Court today (June 3) acquitted the accused of failing to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.


The verdict in the case was due to be announced on May 13. The case was taken up before High Court Judge Nimal Ranaweera on the same day.


The lawyers representing Basil Rajapaksa and Thirukumar Nadesan will not appear before the High Court due to ill health conditions prevailing in the country, the lawyers representing the accused told the High Court.


Accordingly, will this case be continued? Isn't it Judgment has been adjourned till today (June 3).
