Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to make a special statement to Parliament on the 7th regarding the current economic situation in the country and future constitutional amendments.
It was decided to hold a special debate on that statement at the Parliamentary Business Committee meeting held yesterday (June 2) under the chairmanship of the Speaker.
The Committee on Parliamentary Business was convened with the participation of party leaders at the Parliament Complex.
When inquired about this MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara stated as follows.
"Today was the Committee on Parliamentary Business meeting. In the first week of June there is a discussion on parliamentary business. In our Parliamentary canteen what really feeds us, what is the cost, and how many are fed then? When the MPs leave during the day they have to calculate the total cost. The MPs said that the country should be given some real information.
We want to form an all party government. This is not an all party government. We do not see a government that can go that far. We have not yet seen any proposals that this government can make to solve these problems. ”
Secretary General of the Samagi Jana Balawega MP Ranjith Maddumabandara
"The Prime Minister said he would make a statement to Parliament. We also asked that a debate be held on the basis of that statement. Accordingly, there will be a debate in Parliament on Tuesday and Wednesday regarding the current situation in the country.
We wish a solution for the people of the country. The problem is not giving loans to the country. So those responsible for this are still here. 95% of the wrongdoers in this cabinet are still there.
The decision regarding Harin and Manusha is no different. We will do so in accordance with the party constitution. ”
