Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has warned parliamentarians not to leave the country in the dark.
He said he would not be told to keep the country in the dark and ask India for oil.
The Prime Minister further said.
“So I would like to say one thing. Warn. If we have a blackout in this country, do not tell me to go and get these from India. If we do not have an emergency, why do they give it to us? We are always told, you help yourself. Then we will help you.
So I would like to say one thing. To each of these associations. Solve problems, go on the road and grab a card. It's not a problem. Do not blackout. We will not be responsible for any further blackouts. That India will give. India also wants oil. Some people in India are against giving to us.
