Cabinet Spokesman Bandula Gunawardena says that the Cabinet has approved to grant a tax relief period of 40 years to investors in the Colombo Port City.
Addressing a media briefing on the Cabinet decisions, he said the tax concessions would be given to attract foreign investment.
"Competitive countries in the world give foreign investors more attractive concessions and privileges than our country to attract foreign investment. In order to attract people from other countries to our country, we need to provide more relief than other competing countries. ”
The port city project is a foreign direct investment project that has been awarded to a single project in the history of Sri Lanka. Mr. Bandula Gunawardena further stated that 1.4 have been received.
