Ceylon Private Bus Owners' Association decides to suspend buses from next Monday (May 06) due to lack of diesel

The Ceylon Private Bus Owners' Association has decided to withdraw from bus services from next Monday (May 06) as no proper measures have been taken to provide adequate diesel for buses.

Its chairman Gemunu Wijeratne stated that buses have been operated so far due to the inconvenience caused to students due to the GCE Ordinary Level examination.

They have decided to withdraw from their buses if the diesel crisis is not resolved by next Monday.

Mr. Wijeratne alleged that despite several rounds of discussions with the relevant authorities regarding the diesel crisis, no results have been obtained so far.
