Detention of Aeroflot aircraft: Fiscal officer suspended by Colombo Commercial High Court

Steps have been taken to suspend the fiscal officer of the Colombo Commercial High Court who is accused of detaining a Russian Aeroflot aircraft.

The Ministry of Justice, Prisons and Constitutional Reforms said in a statement.

The officer was accused of abusing the judicial process in enforcing the interim order issued by the Colombo Commercial High Court in connection with the detention of the A330 aircraft belonging to Russian Aeroflot Airlines.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice has taken steps to inform the Chief Justice that it is appropriate to take action against the lawyer who has been charged in connection with this incident.
