Four arrested for rioting near petrol stations

Four persons have been arrested for disrupting the duties of police and army personnel at a petrol station.

Three persons were arrested near the Pelawatta petrol station in Meegahatenna and one person in the Magallegama area in Nikaweratiya on the night of June 22.

Three of the four suspects arrested were aged 37, 38 and 40 and were residents of Pahalahewessa and Pelawatta areas while the other suspect was a 45 year old resident of Nikaweratiya.

The four suspects were produced before the Magistrate's Court on June 23.
