Indian diplomatic relations are in danger due to a woman who claims to have 'insulted' Islam

A senior official of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), India's ruling party, has been embroiled in a controversy over an 'insulting idea' about the Prophet Muhammad.

Foreign media reported that Kuwait, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Indonesia, Iraq, Maldives, Jordan, Libya and Bahrain have all protested.

This situation is also reported to have severely affected the diplomatic relations between India and the above countries.

The comment was first made by a lawyer, Nupur Sharma, a senior BJP official.

She had made the statement during a debate on a television channel.

Later, Naveen Kumar Jindal, the head of the party's Delhi media unit, shared the idea of insulting the party.

Both have been removed from their posts, but opposition to India continues to mount over the "insult to Islam".
