Permits cannabis cultivation in home gardens in Thailand

Thais have the opportunity to grow cannabis in their backyards and sell their produce.

This is due to the steps taken by the government to remove marijuana from the list of illicit drugs in the country.

Thailand, a country with strict drug control laws, will go down in history as the first country in Southeast Asia to take such a step.

However, the production of other substances using cannabis is still prohibited.

The Thai government believes that improving cannabis production will boost the country's agriculture as well as tourism.

It is also planned to distribute one million free cannabis seeds to encourage Thais to grow cannabis.

Parliament has been asked on several occasions to allow cannabis cultivation in Sri Lanka as well.
