New Zealand plans to impose a tax on burps released by sheep and cattle.

This is due to the fact that the highest percentage of greenhouse gas sources in the country are found to be emitted by sheep and cattle.

Accordingly, New Zealand will become the first country to levy a tax on animal owners for methane emissions.

New Zealand has a population of 5 million, with an estimated 10 million cattle and 26 million sheep.

It has been identified that 50% of New Zealand's methane emissions come from agricultural activities.
