Mahinda Kahandagama surrenders to CID:


Mahinda Kahandagama, who was named as a suspect in the May 9 riots in Kollupitiya and Galle Face, has surrendered to the CID.


The CID has named Mahinda Kahandagama as a suspect in the case.


Meanwhile, a senior CID official has stated that a team of CID officials has left to arrest former Minister Johnston Fernando, who has been named as a suspect in the case.


Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday (June 1) ordered the naming of former ministers, parliamentarians Johnston Fernando and Mahinda Kahandagama as suspects in the May 9 incident in the Kollupitiya and Galle Face areas.


The CID had yesterday filed a B report in the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court against former Minister Johnston Fernando, naming him as a suspect in the May 9 attacks on Gota and Mainagogama.
