A youth has been killed in a shooting in front of Redbanawatte, Modara.
The Police Media Spokesman's Office stated that the youth was shot dead by two unidentified persons who had arrived in a three wheeler at around 5.00 pm today (June 6).
The victim was a 24-year-old resident of Aluth Mawatha, Colombo 15.
Police suspect the shooting was over a personal dispute over drug trafficking or some other reason.
The Police Media Spokesman's Office stated that the victim was a youth who had recently been arrested and remanded in connection with drug trafficking.
The body has been placed at the Colombo National Hospital and further investigations are being carried out by the Modara Police.
