On June 14, in a dispute between two brothers of the same family in the Upper Pattapola area in the Hataraliyadda police division, the elder brother slipped and fell into a waterfall while chasing the younger brother to throw a stone at him.

The victim succumbed to his injuries yesterday while being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the Kandy Hospital.

The deceased has been identified as a 57 year old resident of Ihala Pattapola, Hataraliyadda.

The body is being kept at the Kandy Hospital morgue.

  

The brother of the deceased who was chased in connection with the incident has been arrested and remanded till June 28 after being produced before the court.

Hataraliyadda police are conducting further investigations.
