The Ministry of Technology and Investment Promotion has issued a gazette notification naming two new Ministries as the Ministry of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment.
This gazette notification has been issued by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and includes the functions and institutions of the relevant Ministries.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Technology and Investment Promotion includes 15 institutions including the Department of Registration of Persons, the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Sri Lanka Telecom and its subsidiaries as well as the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and the Standards Institution.
Previously, the Department of Registration of Persons, the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Sri Lanka Telecom and other institutions were under the Ministry of Defense.
In addition, the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs and Social Empowerment has 15 institutions including the National Child Protection Authority and the Department of Samurdhi Development.
