The history of the GCE Ordinary Level Examination was told to the candidate by an observer at the examination hall of a school in Nachchaduwa. She did not even think for a moment that the observer who passed by her would sexually harass her, saying that she would help the examination. But something similar had happened.

She lived in a village in the Hidogama police area. The girl who is studying A / L in a school in the area is a girl who sat for the GCE Ordinary Level examination the previous year. There she did not have the opportunity to pass every subject. So the girl had decided to re-sit for the failed subjects while studying for A / L. Accordingly, the girl had appeared for the subject of history on the 25th.

One of the halls of the examination center at Hidogama Kaluwila Sena Maha Vidyalaya was reserved. This girl had got a back seat in such a classroom. The girl sat down there preparing for the exam. An observer walked across the auditorium after a while. He paused and stared at the girl. Not once but two or three times did she realize that the observer was looking at the girl. After handing over the question paper for a moment, he said, "It would be good if you got the last seat. No one can see ... Don't be afraid. I'll be back when I can. Let's write a little ... Don't tell anyone ... '' the observer had whispered in the girl's ear. The observer had not forgotten to kiss the girl's cheek at that moment. Meanwhile, the examiner has moved to touch the girl's chest at another time. The frightened girl had told another examiner who was on duty that she wanted to go to the toilet.

The girl immediately got up from her seat and told an assistant on duty about the incident. Upon hearing this, the examination hall assistant informed the head of the examination hall about the matter. At that time, as a precautionary measure, the relevant examination observer had been deployed at another location. The Headmaster then informed the senior officers of the Examinations Department about the incident.

The day after the incident, the girl had come to the Hidogama police station with her mother on the 26th to tell the mother about the incident that had taken place the day before. The girl who came to the police station with the intention of enforcing the required law lodged a complaint regarding the incident. The Hidogama Police obtained a statement from the girl and arrested the teacher. Later, the head of the examination center informed the above and suspended the suspect from his duties. The Hidogama Police had taken immediate action to submit a police investigation report against him.

The arrested examiner is a resident of Nachchaduwa New Town area. The Examiner's had provided money or acted to cover up the incident related to this complaint. The arrested suspect was remanded till the 2nd of this month.
