A man was stabbed to death in the Kandaliyaddapaluwa area in the Ragama Police Division last night (June 7).
The deceased has been identified as a 55 year old resident of Kandaliyaddapaluwa, Ganemulla.
Upon learning that the suspect had stolen the victim's mobile phone, the deceased and his two sons had gone to the suspect's house to inquire about it.
Police said the suspect stabbed the victim and his two sons and fled the scene after an argument escalated.
The victim succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the Ragama Hospital. The body is being kept at the Ragama Hospital morgue.
The suspect in the murder has been arrested, police said.
The suspect was also admitted to the Ragama Hospital with injuries and was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for further treatment.
Ragama Police are conducting further investigations.
