A daughter kill her mother by hitting her with a mill tree

A woman was murdered yesterday (July 17) morning in Singhapura Apartments, Borella.

The deceased is a 65-year-old resident of Singhapura Apartments.

The police said that preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased's daughter had been hit on the head with a small mill tree due to a personal dispute.

The body has been deposited in the mortuary of the National Hospital.

Police said that the suspect was arrested and remanded until July 27 after being presented to the Aluthkade Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The Borella police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
