Four army personnel arrested for death of Kandakadu detainee

Police said that two Army personnel and two Air Force personnel were arrested in connection with the death of an inmate at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Centre.

On the 29th of last day, more than six hundred inmates who behaved riotously with the suspicious death of the inmate in question had escaped from the camp on two occasions.

A group of them have been found and the army and the police have started joint operations to find the other escaped prisoners, said the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi.
