Per person According to the Department of Population and Statistics, Rupees. 11,219 can live for a month.


This is stated in the official national poverty line data and information published by the Department of Census and Statistics for the month of May this year according to the districts of Sri Lanka.


Accordingly, the minimum monthly expenditure required for a family of 4 to fulfill their basic needs will be 44,876 rupees.


In 2012 and 2013, the amount spent per person at the national level to fulfill basic needs is 5,223 rupees in the data of the Department of Census and Statistics, and the amount spent per person living in Colombo district is 5,429 rupees.
