Star of the day !


9 people, including Mrs. Hirunika Premachandra, who protested in front of the Fort President's House, have been arrested.


Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Nihal Talduwa said that among the arrested people there are 5 women and 4 men including Mrs. Hirunika Premachandra.


A group including Mrs. Hirunika Premachandra protested this morning in front of the Presidential Palace, forcing President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to come out of the official residence.


When she tried to enter the Presidential Palace by removing the roadblocks on the way to the Presidential Palace, the security personnel there closed the gate to the Presidential Palace and later told the general public that she and her group would wait in front of the gate until the President's arrival. He also requested to come to that place.

The 11 people including Mrs. Hirunika Premachandra who protested in front of the Fort President House have been granted police bail.


Former MP Hirunika Premachandra and others were arrested by the Presidential Security Division and handed over to the Harbor Police this morning (July 5) under the charge of blocking the road.


Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa and others also came to the place to meet the arrested people.
