What happened to Nimal Siripala due to the "allegation of bribery".


President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has ordered an investigation against Ports, Shipping and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva regarding an allegation.


The Presidential Media Division issued a statement stating that the President has ordered an immediate formal investigation into the allegations leveled by the opposition leader in Parliament yesterday (July 5) regarding a transaction made by the Ministry of Aviation with a private company.


Accordingly, it is further stated in the announcement that Mr. Nimal Siripala de Silva will step down from the ministerial post until the investigations are completed.


In the meantime, Mr. Nimal Siripala de Silva has informed by issuing an announcement that he will immediately leave the ministerial post to allow the investigation to continue.
