The Public Utilities Commission says that there will be no power cuts until June 01.
Its chairman Janaka Ratnayake stated this at a media briefing.
He said there would be no power cuts on May 29 either.
Meanwhile, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera stated that steps will be taken to provide uninterrupted power supply from the beginning of next week.
He added that despite the increase in costs, a policy decision would have to be taken to increase the amount of diesel and fuel available for power generation.
