Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has informed the Russian authorities that the issue regarding the Russian Aeroflot aircraft is not a diplomatic issue.
Awareness programs have been conducted through the Ministry of External Affairs.
The Prime Minister has informed Russia that the issue regarding the Russian Aeroflot aircraft is a personal legal issue and that the Minister of Justice has been informed to take the necessary steps to resolve the matter expeditiously.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs said that discussions regarding the Aeroflot flight are also being held through normal diplomatic channels.
The ministry said in a statement that the court had not yet made a final decision on the aircraft.
